Earth baked in Anatolia…
The Kadir Has University - Rezan Has Museum aims to host
significant exhibitions in the world of arts and, to this end, two major shows
are scheduled to take place between the 16th of May and the 22nd of July.
‘Earth Baked in Anatolia’ showcases the 8,500-year archaeological wealth of
Anatolia, the cradle of civilisations, while the ‘One Century History of
Turkish Painting’ offers art lovers the opportunity to view works by the
leading names in Ottoman and Republican Turkish painting.
‘Earth Baked in Anatolia’ comprises unique pieces from the
Gönül Paksoy collection at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum and covers an
8,500-year span between 7,000 BC and 1,500 AD. ‘One Century History of Turkish
Painting’ includes paintings by Osman Hamdi Bey, Hoca Ali Rıza, Halil Paşa and
Sabri Berkel, thus highlighting the leading painters of our art history. The
exhibition is an opportunity to view typical examples of Turkish painting from
the 19th through the 20th centuries.
